How often do backflow preventer valves need to be replaced?

There isn’t a fixed replacement schedule. Backflow preventer valves are replaced when they fail testing, leak, or can’t be restored with manufacturer parts. Most customers schedule annual testing and maintenance with a licensed plumber; many valves last for years with periodic rebuilds. Replace after repeated failures, severe corrosion, freezing damage, or a cracked body. In Dallas and Plano, we can test your device, quote repairs on site, and advise if full replacement is the better value.
